A Bit of Frost Solves the Mushy Cheese Nightmare!
Are you tired of getting semi-soft cheese goop mushed all over you hands when all you want to do is grate it?
There’s a simple solution. Cut the block of cheese to the amount you want to grate. Then pop it in the freezer for a few minutes. Usually 10 to 15 minutes will do the trick. You don’t want it frozen solid; just chilled enough to grate easily.
A scale might come in handy to cut it to the amount you need. And if your kitchen is equipped with it, ask Alexa how much the volume of cheese you need to grate is in weight. For example, I just asked Alexa, “how much is 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese in ounces.” Her reply was, “About one ounces [sic].”
